Reflections 2016-2017

Reflections is a nationwide contest meant to give students the opportunity to explore and learn about various art forms by creating an art entry that relates to a specific theme.

This year’s theme is “What Is Your Story?”

Join us for West Haven Elementary

& West Haven PTA’s 4th Annual Arts Night

Friday, March 11, 2016

5:00-7:30 PM

Join us for an art stroll through the school and live entertainment provided by the students. Performers include: Each grade K-6, West Haven Harmony Hawks, orchestra, band and drama club.

The performance times are as follows:

5:00 Kindergarten

5:10 4th grade

5:20 1st grade

5:30 3rd grade

5:40 2nd grade

5:50 5th grade

6:00 Band

6:10 Drama Club

6:30 6th grade

6:40 Orchestra

7:00 Harmony Hawks

We ask that your student meet in the Kindergarten hallway 5 minutes before their grade’s scheduled time to perform. Once their performance is over, they will exit off the front of the stage to meet you in the audience.

This is a school fundraiser and all money earned will go directly to the school to purchase emergency items. This year we are earning money for security cameras! Each student will have an art piece that they have created available for purchase by family members only! Suggested donation is $5.

In addition to the art, we will also hold a silent auction with donations provided from some very generous local companies.

Concessions will be available for purchase. The money earned from the concessions will support the PTA.

It will be a fun family night for all. See you there!

The Great Check Writing Campaign

Dear West Haven Elementary Family,

Thank you for the positive response to West Haven Elementary PTA's alternative fundraiser this year,

The Great Check Writing Campaign!  We really feel it is a better use of your time and money.

We still need your help. In order to avoid the traditional, door-to-door selling type fundraiser we need to replace those funds with straight donations.  By donating to The Great Check Writing Campaign, 100% of your money stays at West Haven Elementaryto benefit our students, teachers, and school.  Most Fundraisers only give 40-50% of the income back to the school. 

Please send your donations, cash or check, to school by this Friday, November 6, 2015.  Of Course, the PTA is happy to accept your contributions any time of the year, but to help us determine if another fundraiser is going to be necessary this school year, we would like to have the donations by Friday.  Please help us avoid another fundraiser! With only $15 per student, we can continue to support the beneficial programs our students have come to love.  We understand not everyone is able to donate at this time and we greatly appreciate those who have already donated. (Students who contribute $15 or more will receive a Super Hero or Super Villain Duck as a token of our appreciation.)
